After the chaotic weekend in Baku where we saw Max Verstappen display another convincing drive, proving to be a potential threat to McLaren, we head to Marina Bay for the Singapore Grand Prix.

As of now, McLaren still lead the Constructors’ Championship, whilst Oscar Piastri leads the Drivers’ Championship over his teammate Lando Norris, with Verstappen not too far behind.

Will this race crown McLaren as Constructors’ Champions in Singapore, or will the fight continue to Austin? Here is what you need to know ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

As Marina Bay is a very bumpy street circuit, it is known to be one of the most physically demanding tracks on the calendar this season. The circuit had a layout change back in 2023, where the number of corners on the track was reduced from 23 to 19 corners in total.

As for the drivers, the physical stress of this track can make them lose up to three kilograms in body weight over the course of the race, which will leave them exhausted post-race.

Track details

This race will have 62 laps of action. The circuit is 4.94km, making the total race distance 306.143km.

What happened last year?

In 2024, at the Singapore Grand Prix, Lando Norris produced a strong drive to put a 20 second gap between himself and Verstappen as he went on to win the original night race of Formula One. Oscar Piastri rounded out the podium and Daniel Ricciardo, in his last Formula One race, took the fastest lap of the race.
