After 42 days of waiting, F1 Academy will finally be back for Round 3! This time, our drivers will be battling on a whole new track: the legendary Silverstone.

Nestled in the English countryside, Silverstone is 5.891km long, with 18 challenging turns. It has the famously quick corners like Copse and Maggots and Becketts. This surely will provide a challenge to our F1A drivers and great entertainment to the audience.

This will mark the Brit Pack’s – Ella Lloyd, Ella Stevens, Rachel Robertson, Alisha Palmowski, and Megan Bruce – first home race.

This inclusion signifies the growth of the series; they’re racing on the home of British motorsport after all! In the initial announcement, Silverstone CEO Stuart Pringle said they are “thrilled to be welcoming F1 ACADEMY to Silverstone in 2026.” They are also “confident that adding F1 Academy to our 2026 British Grand Prix weekend will be a hugely popular addition and elevate the atmosphere even further.”

Susie Wolff, F1 Academy’s Managing Director, has added that “racing at the British Grand Prix for the first time and becoming part of this iconic track’s history is a testament to our growth and development as we inspire a new generation of women in motorsport.”

The Future Is Fast

To properly kick off this huge milestone, F1 Academy launched The Future is Fast pop-up in London last weekend, June 27-28. This free event gave fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with everything F1 Academy.

There were interactive activations, exclusive giveaways, and driver experiences celebrating the next generation of women in motorsport. F1A drivers such as Alba Larsen, Ella Lloyd, Ava Dobb, Ella Stevens, Megan Bruce, and Mathilda Paatz came, signed merch, and met with fans.

If all this won’t get you excited for the race, I don’t know what will.

What To Look Forward To

While this is F1 Academy’s first time racing at Silverstone, the grid has already completed two days of in-season testing at the track back in April. McLaren driver Ella Lloyd set the fastest time on the first day, while her fellow Brit Alisha Palmowski topped the timings on the second day.

Will this experience be enough for Palmowski to keep her status as championship leader on her home turf? Or will Austrian driver Emma Felbermayr catch up?

We should also keep an eye on Swiss driver Chiara Bättig, who will be making her F1 Academy debut as a wildcard. She will be driving for Wella Professionals, driving a special livery inspired by their “Make It You” campaign.

The Red Bull junior driver has an advantage coming into the race weekend. She doesn’t just have experience at this particular track; she’s also stood on the podium at Silverstone. The 16-year-old placed third in this track last May, racing for HItech in British F4.

F1 Academy will be racing at Silverstone from July 3 to 5 as a support series to Formula 1.

You can watch the whole weekend on their YouTube and X accounts and via F1 TV.
