2019 was a sensational season in F1 history… especially if you are a Mercedes fan, but 2019 in Brazil was a rare non-Mercedes dominated weekend.
Friday in Sao Paulo started off with a bang in FP1 with Albon going fastest overall and a blistering half a second ahead of Bottas in second with Vettel taking 3rd.

The afternoon in Sao Paulo saw a more uniform with the Ferrari duo of Vettel and Leclerc taking a 1-2 with only .021s between each other and Verstappen following in 3rd to end the Friday festivities
Saturday morning saw the first glimpse of speed from Mercedes all weekend with Hamilton topping the timesheet for FP3 followed by the Ferrari duo to wrap up the top 3
Qualifying hit the track and with no set fastest team, it left viewers in for a treat. After the dust of Q3 settled, it was Verstappen on pole ahead of Vettel and Hamilton. With less than 0.2s covering the top 3 there was no telling what Sunday had in store.

The race saw fierce battles and excellent drama with the best of it coming towards the end where in an attempt to take position Hamilton would spin out rookie Alex Albon and would finish in a podium spot but would have it taken from him by a time penalty which promoted Carlos Sainz to P3 completing a phenomenal drive from P20 giving him his first career podium and Pierre Gasly would take a brilliant P2 for Torro Rosso completing a weird but technically correct Red Bull 1-2 with Verstappen winning the race.
Overall, Sao Paulo lived up to its hype and angst.
