The Hungaroring has always given fans brilliant races and this year it was no different.
Qualifying gave fans the first taste of how great the race would be with Lewis Hamilton getting the pole, which gave him the most poles in one place ever, and Max Verstappen alongside him on the front row, both McLarens in the 2nd row and Zhou Guanyu qualifying 5th, the highest he’d qualified in his time if F1. George Russell was out in Q1 after hitting traffic on track and Daniel Ricciardo out-qualified his new teammate on his return to start P13.

On Sunday everyone waited to see how the race would go and when the lights went out both Hamilton and Verstappen had a great start, racing wheel to wheel down the straight but with the Red Bull driver having the inside line it gave him the advantage into the first corner which gave him the lead of the race. Hamilton ended up losing another place to Oscar Piastri who had moved up to P2 from P4. The Mercedes driver then lost a further place to Lando Norris who showed the power of the papaya car with their new upgrades.
Behind the leaders, an incident in the first corner that led to a double Alpine DNF was investigated and led to Zhou getting a 5-second penalty.
Both Mercedes seemed to be struggling with different things but later in the race showed just how well the cars could handle low fuel. Russell crossed the line in 7th but gained a place when Charles Leclerc’s 5-second penalty for speeding in the pitlane was applied.
Sergio Perez showed his skill and the dominance of the RB19 making his way quickly through the field, it looked like the old Perez was back after struggling for the past few races. The Red Bull driver finished 3rd.
Ahead of Perez his teammate finished 1st to take his 7th consecutive win and Red Bull’s 12th consecutive win, breaking the record set by McLaren in 1998. Norris took his first consecutive podium finishing in 2nd place.

The race left Red Bull Hungary for more with one race left before summer break, can the Bulls continue their dominance to win every race before the break?
