Midfield teams rarely steal headlines – unless they’re doing something special. In 2025, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) did exactly that. From a breakthrough podium and reshuffled driver line-ups to viral TikTok’s and an iconic bromance, VCARB’s 2025 season blended performance, personality and progress in a way very few expected.
Slow And Steady Wins The Race?
Finishing 6th in the Constructors’ Championships, VCARB improved from their 2024 statistics, where they finished in 8th. Scoring 92 points as a team overall and doubling the 46 scored in 2024, VCARB have cemented that they’re steadily on the up, signalling that they could be ditching their midfield spot sometime in the near future.
| Statistic | 2025 season | 2024 season |
| Constructors’ Championship standing | 6th | 8th |
| Drivers’ Championship standing | 12th (Hadjar) 14th (Lawson) | 12th (Tsunoda) 17th (Ricciardo) 21st (Lawson) |

| Total points scored | 92 | 46 |
The Times They Are A-Changin’
VCARB began the 2025 season with drivers Isack Hadjar and Yuki Tsunoda in the seats of the teams VCARB 02’s. However, Tsunoda was soon promoted to VCARB’s sister team, Red Bull Racing, in March 2025, and was replaced by Liam Lawson.
These changes extended beyond the cockpit, with leadership also reshuffling mid-season. Having initially joined the team as Racing Director in January 2024, Alan Permane was promoted to Team Principal at VCARB in July 2025 after Laurent Mekies was promoted to CEO and Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, following Christian Horner’s swift departure.
Breakthrough Moments For VCARB
Despite their fair share of setbacks and unfortunate DNFs, the team also encountered a variety of on-track success. Hadjar scored his first points after a stellar performance at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan, where he finished in P8 in spite of the seatbelt issues he faced during qualifying. Success befell teammate Liam Lawson a few weeks later in Monaco, where he finished in P8 and secured his first points of the season.
However, VCARB’s starring moment of the 2025 season was Hadjar’s podium finish at Zandvoort, where he stood in P3 alongside championship contenders Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri. This is Hadjar’s best Formula 1 race finish to date, the result making him the first Arab driver and fifth-youngest podium finisher in Formula 1 history.

VCARB’s influenced extended well beyond race weekends. The team was quick to become a social media standout, supported by a passionate fanbase and a social media team working around the clock. The VCARB bromance between Hadjar and Lawson – affectionately dubbed ‘Lisack’ – was born after Lawson’s demotion to VCARB.
The pair became one of the most iconic bromances of the 2025 season, starring together in trending challenges, guitar performances and lip-syncs timed to perfection. Their online presence captured the lighter side of the intense sport, and proved that midfield teams are capable of commanding just as much attention as front-runners.
Whilst the duo is set to split up for 2026, VCARB’s social media momentum shows no signs of slowing, with newcomer Arvid Lindblad probably already being trained for his social media takeover.
Speed Meets Style At VCARB
Beyond impressive performances on-track and online, VCARB made headlines amongst fans for their fashion. Their Silverstone 2025 special livery collaboration with urban artist Slawn and fashion brand HUGO certainly did not go unmissed. The livery, driver suits, team kits and team garage were decked out with unique and inspired patterns and graffiti, inspired by Slawn’s Yoruba heritage and London’s urban culture scene, allowing VCARB to complete the Silverstone 2025 Grand Prix in style. One of the season’s most striking visual statements, it cemented VCARB’s status as a triple threat: a team where performance, branding and cultural relevance intersect. Having unveiled their new 2026 livery just a few days ago, VCARB are showing no signs of parting from this carefully cultivated identity.
What’s Changing For 2026?
With momentum on their side heading in to the new season, change is once again on the horizon:
- Hadjar’s promotion to Red Bull follows a breakout season capped by his Zandvoort podium, marking the next step in the 21-year-olds rapid ascent in Formula 1.
- Lindblad replaces Hadjar and steps up to Formula 1, a position earnt through his impressive Formula 2 performances.
- Further technical and operational refinements are expected under Permane’s leadership, as VCARB looks to consolidate its midfield gains and put pressure on the teams vying for first place in the Constructors’ Championships this coming season.
All eyes will be on VCARB on the 8th March at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit, where the team will make their 2026 Formula 1 debut.
