Andretti Resurgence as Jake Dennis Wins in Sanya
Sanya return to the championship since 2019 also marked the come back of Andretti and Jake Dennis to the top step of the podium. Jake Dennis delivered a commanding performance throughout the weekend, helping the team secure one of its strongest results of the season.
Both Jake Dennis and Felipe Drugovich showed great pace all weekend. In fact, they secured a historic, first-ever front-row lockout for Andretti. After securing pole position, the British driver managed to navigate through a chaotic, red-flagged race to ultimately come out on top and secure the win.
The result not only ended a winless streak for the team and the British driver but also strengthened his position in the championship battle as the season enters its decisive phase.
Post-Race Penalties Shake Up the Podium
One of the main talking points to emerge from the Sanya E-Prix was the consistency of stewarding decisions, with several penalties and post-race reviews significantly altering the final results.
The most debated case saw António Félix da Costa finish second on the road before stewards handed him a time penalty for contact with Norman Nato, dropping him down the order. The Portuguese driver openly questioned the decision, arguing that officials judged similar incidents differently throughout the weekend.
Nyck de Vries also saw his initial penalty overturned, which promoted the Dutch driver onto the podium. Meanwhile, Felipe Drugovich received a post-race penalty that removed him from the podium positions. The ruling cost Andretti a potential 1–2 finish, with the team losing its strong result in the final classification.
Formula E 2026/2027 Calendar
Formula E just announced its calendar for next season, reshaping the usual order and adding new venues. The championship decided to divide the races in blocks, starting from the Middle East to the Asian races.
The season will begin in Jeddah in December before heading to the Americas. It will then move to Europe, where two new venues have been added to the calendar, before concluding in Japan. Next season will see the introduction of Zandvoort, while the traditional London ExCeL circuit will be replaced by Brands Hatch.

Formula E debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
For the first time ever, Formula E will take part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed as an official partner. The Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from 9 to 12 July 2026 in West Sussex.
Formula E will showcase its evolution by displaying all four generations of its race cars, from Gen1 to the upcoming Gen4 model, which will debut next season. All four generations will take to the famous hill climb simultaneously in an effort to demonstrate the championship’s technological progress and evolution to spectators.
