For teams and their drivers, race weekends usually start days before doors open to fans on Friday. However, the F1 Academy is set to welcome the public a day earlier, on Thursday, to give certain fans an extra day that’s all about them.
This marks the first time that an additional day has been added to the race weekend in the history of both the Championship and the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

Grand Prix View: what to expect
During the additional Grand Prix View day, the F1 Academy will welcome around 7,000 local students, aged 11–12, through the Discover Your Drive programme. This initiative was launched to introduce young women to motorsport and open up career opportunities for them within the industry. During the event, students will have the opportunity to observe the various roles that women fulfil during a race weekend.
In addition to attracting a new audience, the initiative will also provide those attending with other unique opportunities. Visitors will have access to the F1 Academy paddock, the Fan Village and the new COTALAND amusement park located within the circuit. All of this will be available for just $20, with students admitted free of charge.
New generations
The next generation is already on the horizon, and the partnership between the F1 Academy and the Circuit of The Americas recognises this. Together, their aim is to make motorsport more accessible to future generations by showing them that there is a place for them in the sport, and that a career in F1 is within reach.
