The start of the Formula E season has been a whirlwind of emotions as always. Don’t take your eyes away from it otherwise you might miss something. Don’t worry if you have, we’ve got you covered.

The season started in Brazil in December 2025. Let’s see what happened:

Sao Paolo

Jake Dennis dominated an eventful first race of the season all the way back in December, at the Sao Paolo E-Prix. The season 9 World Champion started on pole which he converted to a win amidst the carnage unfolding behind him. In fact, a surprise red flag in the last stint of the race caused by Spanish rookie Pepe Martì led to a one lap sprint to the finish line. Joining Andretti’s Dennis on the podium were Nissan driver Oliver Rowland and the new Citroën Racing’s Nick Cassidy, who charged from the middle of the pack.

Mexico

The new year saw the unfolding of the second round of the championship at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, in Mexico. The Mexican E-Prix was an all-show by Cassidy. His performance gave his new manufacturer a win in only its second race in the championship, a feat in and out of itself. The Kiwi showed one of his best performances as a driver by going aggressive with Attack Mode early on in the race, taking advantage of his low starting position. He luckily succeeded and was joined on the podium by Edoardo Mortara and Rowland.

Miami

Formula E added another round to its history. The championship raced for the first time in the Miami International Autodrome, where the brand new track favored the return to the top step of the podium of the Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans. The Kiwi triumphed in a wet Miami after a delayed start behind the safety car. The race actually started on lap six with the usual Formula E madness. Then the race leveled off apart from a couple of problems for Max Günther and his DS Penske.

The podium then consisted of Mitch Evans, Nico Müller and Pascal Wehrlein who started all the way in 11th on the grid.

Maybe the only highlight of the weekend was the phenomenal performance in qualifying by the Brazilian driver Felipe Drugovich who started on the front row, in only his third ever race in the category. However, the Brazilian driver didn’t have much luck in the race as he got in an accident with Ántonio Félix Da Costa. Though, he didn’t recover from that moment and saw the checkered flag a lap down.

Jeddah

The Jeddah E-Prix was a double appointment for the championship. For the first time, the race was held at the same circuit as Formula One, while up until 2026 the teams competed at the Diriyah circuit. There, season 10 champion Pascal Wehrlein saw the checkered flag first in Race 1 and was joined on the podium by Mortara and Evans.

Race 2 gave the championship another new winner in Da Costa, who celebrated his first victory as a Jaguar TCS Racing driver. He was the one to better manage energy, closely followed by Sébastien Buemi and Rowland.
This race was a showing of good strategy by both team and driver, who made the bold choice to activate both Attack Mode one after the other. In a race characterized by different leaders, this gave Da Costa a good margin for the rest of the race while his competitors dealt with the second Attack Mode.

After all the different winners so far, let’s take a look at how the driver standings:

1. P. Wehrlein 68

What happens next?

The Formula E championship will be back at the brand new 2026 Spanish Formula E E-Prix. The race will be held at the circuit of Madrid-Jarama on the 21st of March. However, the circuit won’t be new to the drivers who got to experience it during pre-season testing last season. Who do you think will win the race? Will the circuit of Madrid-Jarama see a new Formula E winner? I, for one, certainly hope so.
